Mother nature is a powerful woman. Some days she is a green goddess. Some days she is a blue diva. These MacGuffins are mother nature’s secret army of climate warriors who hide in plain sight in the world that surrounds us - our forests and factories, oceans and fields, cities and mountains. Each one is made of a different material and what they are made of is what makes them unexpectedly magical. Each one has the power to save the planet and the big and small creatures who live here with us. These books are written to teach young kids a little bit about what the stuff that surrounds us is made of and why it matters. Materials have personality and each one has story to tell. Inspired by Mister Men (Roger Hargreaves) and Woolbur (Helakoski & Harper)…Shaggy MacGuffin And The Magic Yarn is about Shaggy, who is made of wool and lives in New Zealand. He lasso’s a cloud and floats to The South Pole to rescue a penguin who is stuck on a small piece of melting ice in the middle of a puddle of black ocean oil. The series continues with Page MacGuffin And The Magic Scroll (Page is made of paper), Stretch MacGuffin And The Magic Balloon (Stretch is made of rubber), Bob MacGuffin And The Magic Stick (Bob is made of cork). Each book is ~500 words and 32 pages of almost impossible environmental fiction.
